When you use this option, the work area is split in half vertically with the left half showing the housing from the front view and the right half showing the right view.

The next icon is the Four View option.

This option divides the work area into quarters, which show front, left, top and trimetric views.

The last icon is the Link Views option.

This option is highlighted by default when you select a multiple view option. When this command is selected all the views except the trimetric view will move in unison, when it is deselected, the views move independently from one another.
