Gain a Professional Edge!

The SolidWorks 2015: Professional Modeling covers all the modeling commands commonly used in a professional environment. You'll learn how to quickly create bulletproof models in the shortest time possible, and you'll learn tips and techniques that will assure your models can easily be edited. Beginner and advanced users should start with this course because it provides founding concepts for advanced operations and procedures discussed in later courses.

It starts by showing you how sketches are used to create features. You'll get a tour of the user interface. Practice working with implied and automatic relations while making contours in your sketches. Contours, also known as profiles, are used to create 3D features. While these are basic concepts the course quickly builds to an advanced level showing each step.

Throughout the course you'll work on a part template that becomes the cornerstone for all the template settings you'll learn. As your knowledge of SolidWorks becomes more advanced so does your custom part template. You'll also start with simple feature commands and work your way to the most advanced commands while progressively building your skills.

For example, the Sweep command is relatively easy to understand. You create a closed profile and sweep it along a path. As you learn more about the Sweep command you'll be able to control the size and shape of the profile as it sweeps along the path. You'll also learn common mistakes and solutions to problems when working with the Sweep command, and you'll learn best practices with every step. Every command listed in the list of lessons is covered with complete detail designed to assure your success.

The course also compares commands. Some tasks can be performed using more than one command. So you need to know which command works best. Typically the answer depends on what you're trying to do, but knowing the differences between the commands give you the ability to make an informed decision. This course takes the time to assure you know your choices.
