Learn Documentation Best Practices!

Learn how to create professional mechanical drawings from the components and assemblies constructed in the first two courses. The SolidWorks 2014: Mechanical Drawings course covers all the commands associated with 2D drawings in detail. Your custom title blocks will automatically fill custom title block fields. Revision tables you customize will automatically snap in place when you create a new drawing. You'll control the color and line weight of everything on your drawings and so much more. This course is packed with everything you need to make professional mechanical drawings.

The course starts by showing you the standard methods of creating drawings and views. You'll see the Drawing Number field in the title block automatically fill in with the filename of the part. Once that's done you're on your way to expanding this concept to your own custom title blocks.

You will practice adding custom title block fields that populate with part properties. You'll create your own custom properties and apply them. You'll learn how links and title block fields work, and you'll practice using the Property Tab Builder to create custom property tabs. Property tabs are used to add additional information to title blocks. So this is a helpful skill to master.

This course shows you all the steps required to create custom drawing templates for any size drawing. You'll practice using all the view types and learn best practices that put them in your control. Your custom sheet formats and layers will control the look, color, and weight of everything on your drawings, and you will know how to streamline the drafting process.

It's packed with tips and tricks that assure you are using the fastest method of creating mechanical drawings. Your drawings will be completely defined to meet your needs, and you will learn best practices and sound procedures to assure the accuracy of your work.
