Locking Model Features in SolidWorks - Page 2
Locked features cannot be edited and they are not rebuilt when the model is rebuilt. This not only helps protect the features from being modified, it also speeds up rebuild time.
You can edit the features below the Freeze bar, add new features to the tree, and if you find that you need to unlock a feature drag the Freeze bar above it.
Release your left mouse button, and the features below the Freeze bar are unlocked.
