Dragging Fully Defined Sketch Entities in SolidWorks - Page 2

by John Koop, SolidWorks Specialist, TEDCF Publishing

An easy way to achieve this is to use the Override Dims on Drag/Move command. Go to the Tools pull down Menu.

Now highlight Sketch Settings and select the command.

Now you can drag the point on the end of the line closer to the desired dimension while also keeping the height relatively the same.

Once you get the dimension close, you will get a better idea of the angle you will need to keep the height where you want it.

Although this can be a useful tool, I recommend that you leave the command turned off whenever you aren’t using it. You could inadvertently alter a sketch if you leave the command turned on.
