TEDCF Ships Inventor 2013 Training Course

Springville, CA, May 16, 2012 – TEDCF Publishing, an Autodesk Authorized Publisher and member of the Autodesk Developer Network, today released Autodesk Inventor 2013 Certified: Assemblies and Advanced Concepts, a video based training course for Autodesk Inventor 2013.

Assemblies and Advanced Concepts is the second course in a series of Inventor 2013 Certified courses scheduled for release this year. It covers advanced modeling techniques like Bottom Up, Middle Out, and Top Down design as well as advanced modeling processes.  It also shows advanced methods of creating iFeatures, iParts, combining and splitting parts, using the Design Accelerator, Kinematics, sketch blocks, and flexible block assemblies.

One of the new aspects of this course is it illustrates the multi-body design processes in detail.  Users learn how to construct multi-body models while using best practices for streamlining work and assuring that models are structurally sound.  Hybrid design methods are also demonstrated to expand the development process. While obtaining the correct body orientation of imported external parts and assemblies can be difficult, this course show a procedure that simplifies the process and assures accurate control.

“Multi-Body designing is the way to go,” said John Koop, Software Engineer for TEDCF Publishing. “It’s fast and you have more control over the design because you work on all the parts in a single file.”

All the parts in an assembly are constructed in a single part file.  This allows users to change part geometry, add new parts, and modify the assembly as needed.  When the multi-body part file is modified the changes are automatically applied to the assembly and component files.  This streamlines the development process.

“The enhancements to Inventor 2013 has launched 3D development to a new level,” said David Melvin, PE, Author of the course.  “You can create assemblies faster and with more accuracy than ever.  The new Appearance and Material Libraries give you more control over how your parts look, and the list goes on.  I couldn’t be more pleased with the work that Autodesk as done.  It’s been a pleasure writing this course.”

Users can download the full course now, and the upgradeable DVD can be pre-ordered.  When all seven courses are complete the DVD will ship on July 31st.  It will contain all seven courses so that the user can easily upgrade to a new course without having to purchase another DVD.

TEDCF Publishing has also enhanced their Lesson Player.  Along with adjustable playback speed and a lesson search engine, users can now assign global hotkeys. This gives users the ability to pause and play lessons while working in the Inventor environment. Users can also use hotkeys to advance to the next lesson in the course and review previously watched lessons.

These are some of the features of the course.

  • Lessons in Metric & English
  • Lesson Search Engine – find lessons fast
  • Progressive layout – step-by-step training
  • Simplified learning format – thorough explanations
  • Automatic book-marking – the course automatically opens on the last viewed lesson.
  • Volume Slider – adjustable volume.
  • Speed Slider – adjustable playback speed.
  • Full-screen capability
  • Time Displays – the length of each lesson along with the current time is displayed.
  • Hide-able Control Panel – gives users more room for full-screen viewing.
  • Hotkeys – gives users control while working in the Inventor environment.
  • System Requirements: Windows, Speakers, and Windows Media Player 9 or above.
